Strategic Communication and Social Media: Bernardita Ruffinelli

Bernardita Ruffinelli (Chica) collaborated with América Solidaria – both in the international office in Chile as well as in Haiti – to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote their work in and experiences from the projects more effectively.

In an interview on Chilean National Television (TVN), she talks about her experience in Haiti: “We went to empower the volunteers of América Solidaria to help them use social networks better, to find the stories they want to tell, and to look for ways how to tell the people in Chile about what is going on in Haiti. I personally have made the commitment to work with América Solidaria and we are now developing a massive (communication) strategy so that the people in Chile finally get to know about the great work they are doing in Haiti.”

After Haiti, Bernardita started a special series in her own blog sharing pieces of her experience. She has also involved her workplace, Hill Knowlton Strategies, in her plans and they are now officially the Public Relations agency for América Solidaria Haiti.
