Call for GCC Communications Intern

The GCC 2017 is rolling on and you can be part of the journey already!
We are offereing a six-month internship with the GCC communications team! Do you have (some) experience and/or training in the field of communications & marketing and want to test it in the field?
Apply by 5 April 2017 to join the team!
- Support the MF communications team in
- Writing & copy-editing GCC related contents for the MF website, including GCC2017 event page, blog-posts of stories
- Preparing GCC Promo Kit to announce and promote the GCC
- Preparing and copy-editing GCC related documents, guides, reports, etc.
- Identifying visuals/photos to be used for the promotion of the GCC2017
- Close collaboration with the communications teams in the MF’s XO and MF Ashesi
- Support the Campus Outreach Team in promoting, documenting, and reporting about the GCC at the respective campuses
- Help with preparations for Springboard Sessions (this may include the collaboration with Springboard Speakers as they develop their presentations)
- Production of daily GCC updates with highlights, quotes/interviews, and photographs, as well as other relevant materials for the GCC Blog
- Support adequate social media coverage of all activities at the GCC
- Support the MF communications team in
- Duration: 6 months starting in April until October 2017
- Hours: approx. 5 hours / week per prior and following the GCC, continued support during the GCC
- Availability to travel to Ghana in order to participate in the entire GCC
- Proficient knowledge of the English language
- Proven writing skills (in English)
- (At least) intermediate social media competency (esp. Facebook & Twitter)
- Knowledge of photo editing & development of promotional visuals (e.g. on Canva); ideally some experience with video editing
- (Some) working experience with web-copy editing on WordPress, Atavist or other CMS
- (Some) experience with institutional marketing & communications (esp. the MF Brand)
- Effective use of presentation software (PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.)
- Full scholarship to participate in the GCC 2017
- A stipend (details will be confirmed during a Skype interview)
- Official recognition of the internship (certificate)
- First-hand learning about events marketing and promotion
- Learning the effective use of numerous communications tools
- Gain professional social media practice

All interested and qualified Fellows - Junior and Senior - can apply. The Melton Foundation will provide a grant in support of travel expenses to as well as lodging and meals for trainers during the GCC.
