StoryTelling (2015/16)

Every day around the world amazing things happen, small things that make a difference and lift our morale. However, most people are not conscious of their surroundings, or of the people they meet and the situations they go have experienced.

As Melton Fellows, Javi, Clau and Esteban learned to appreciate these small things in life and value the stories and essence of average people in their quotidian context. They recognized that all of us have a story to tell and started sharing stories from ordinary people, whose moments in life can teach us that there are a many global citizens out there making this world a better place, even if we are currently unaware of them.

They believe that reading the story of others helps develop the capability to see the world through the eyes of our neighbours, raising a sense of empathy, connection and mutual understanding.

Throughout the next month, the team will gather short stories about the people and situations that have been part of their trajectory as Melton Fellows. They will act as facilitators and a mouthpiece. They will then pull together these stories in a creative and appealing way, complementing each with additional visual materials they’ve produced.
