Sustainable Communities

At the 2017 Global Citizenship Conference, Junior Fellows formed five Project Teams in which they will work together to develop shared solutions for pressing issues. This is one of the teams.

Everything started with six Fellows passionate about sustainability. Yet the term sustainability is everything and nothing, so how to address something that sounds so conceptual and is difficult to grasp? Team members started exploring their communities for initiatives on sustainability and - magically - they arrived at a common goal: improving waste management. From recycling Mardi Gras beans, guided excursions to a landfills, to improve recycling on campus - the Project Team is working on different pieces of the puzzle that - together - make an intergrated whole.

If you're interested to get engaged and support the work of the team, get in touch with any of the Project Team members or their mentors Amrita and Florence
