ClimatePUSH: Looking for Real, Simple, Local Solutions

The Melton Foundation's ClimatePUSH Project screened three sessions of environmental films to the people of Temuco, Chile. Every session was followed by a group debate, where participants shared their impressions and insights, and as a fitting finale to the event, An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore's Oscar-winning documentary on global warming was presented on the big screens of Aula Magna in Universidad de La Frontera (UFRO) in Temuco. 

After watching the documentary, the audience was guided to a reflective conversation by Dr. Fernando Borie, a professor in the postgraduate course of Biogeochemical Cycles. He urged the audience to think together on real and simple solutions in order to mitigate the effects of climate change. 

Following each session, students from Santa Cruz School and UFRO captured the ideas generated through group debate and inspired by the films, and now aim to transform them into action. Some of these ideas will become part of the collaborative work done in the second stage of Climate PUSH Project's local action plan in Temuco. Stay tuned for more
