The best way to get to New Orleans is to fly in to the Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY). If you're flying internationally, you will need to transit in to the United States from a major hub, such as JFK in New York City.

How to get there: transportation from the airport
For transportation from the airport, you can either hire a taxi or take an airport shuttle.
Taxicabs: A cab ride costs about $33.00 from the airport to most hotels for one or two persons and $14.00 (per passenger) for three or more passengers. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage. Taxis are required to offer a credit card payment option, but you may also pay with cash.
Airport Shuttle: Shuttle service is available from the airport to Dillard University for $20.00 (per person, one-way) or $38.00 (per person, round-trip). Three bags per person. Call 1-866-596-2699 or (504) 522-3500 for more details or to make a reservation. Advance reservations are required 48 hours prior to travel for all ADA accessible transfers. To hire a taxi, exit the airport on the lower level near the baggage claim. There will be a cabstand with a line of taxis waiting to take you. Most taxis will have a rate posted on the outside of vehicle and will be about $33 USD for one or two passengers. Once in a taxi, either show the address of the hotel or simply ask them to take you to the Courtyard Marriott Hotel at the Galleria off Causeway. The hotel is well known, and the driver should know where it is and get you there without any difficulty.
